Protection

With every energy or force there is an opposing one. To expect protection, without first asking for it does not take into account the law of free will. Choice.
There are some psychics, mediums and practitioners that work with the dark side, the shadow and not with positive intent for others.

I repeat, if you are working with spirit or energies and do not ask for protection from the Light and loving side of the Universe you may come to regret it and have to learn the hard way.

Therefore always ask for protection. What can you loose if you do? You might have much to loose if you do not.

How do we protect ourselves?

It is not difficult. We should not feel that we need complex rituals, prayers or any other systems to protect ourselves.

Simplicity and positive intent are important factors together with trust after we ask for appropriate protection according to our belief system.

Principles of Protection

We should ask the Light, God, the Spirits, the Universe and or the Angels to protect us.
This is achieved according to our own belief system, taking into account what or whom we would normally pray to.

After asking, we must trust that appropriate protection has been provided for us.

We must have positive intent for what we are doing and asking for.

We can strengthen and achieve all this by positive visualisation.

What are we protecting ourselves from?

The Universe consists of and contains many types and levels of energy, Sprits and Entities. Some of these are

People who work with Spirit and energies tend to hold one of two different views on psychic and Mediumistic protection.

To be clear, psychic means working with energies. Psychics are not necessarily mediumistic. Mediumistic means communicating with Spirits and (or) entities.
Those who are mediumistic are normally also psychic.

There are some Mediums, Psychics, therapists and healers who believe that Spirit, the Light, God, the Angels and ascended Masters will automatically protect them, as they are working for the Light. For this paper the Light means what you believe in, that is loving and positive in the Universe. Others believe that we must protect ourselves. I am one of those others.

On one occasion I was in a group of Spirit Releasment Therapists and Mediums who held the view that the Light would automatically protect them without the need to ask that this would happen. I did not ask for any protection. Unfortunately, I then had a very bad experience with both negative energies and an entity. Since that occasion I always ask for protection and help.

Is there anyone of us who never has a negative thought? Even if we are a very Spiritual person we still suffer from negative thoughts and negativity. We might also come into contact with powerful negative energies and entities. Negative thoughts and negativity always creates negative energy and often attracts negative entities — Spirits.

Is our Aura always whole, positive and healthy, all the time and in every circumstance?
I would suspect the honest answer is no.
Are we always pure in our thoughts? No. We are all open to negative influences. We either attract negativity or create it ourselves.
